  14. Has anyone had experience with the FastMac V.34 modem 
  15. on a PPP connection.  The modem almost always connects 
  16. at 28.8 but data transfer rates are usually less than 400 
  17. bps.  I've tried many different configurations with no 
  18. success.  The phone line appears to be reasonably clean.

  20. Any Ideas?  Should I have purchased a better modem?
